The Colombo High Court will today announce its decision on
granting bail to former Minister Tissa Attanayake, who is in remand custody
over the preparation of a forged document.
His bail plea was heard
yesterday at the High Court.
Attanayake's lawyers pushed
for bail on the grounds that he is suffering from diabetes for a long
time. They also argued that the Government Analysts's report did not suggest
the signatures were forged.
The Attorney General rejected
these claims and argued against granting bail.
